Stepan Khzrtian is founding partner of LegalLab, a boutique law firm specializing in corporate law, contracts, and financings for high-growth tech start-ups, with offices in Los Angeles and Yerevan. A licensed attorney in California and Armenia, he earned his law degrees from Cambridge University and the American University of Armenia and his bachelor’s degree in political science from Yerevan State University. In his free time, Stepan hones his espresso-making skills and enjoys writing fiction, with his first book scheduled to be published in Spring 2022.
Anna SrapionyanBoard Member
Anna Srapionyan is a Quantitative R&D Associate at 55-IP, a JPMorgan Asset Management company. Prior to this role, she was a Quant Strategies Associate at Bank of America Securities. Anna holds a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University, Master of Science in Financial Mathematics degree from The University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Yerevan State University. She also served on the Board of Directors of Cornell Engineering Alumni Association and SIAM Career Opportunities Committee. To Anna, baking is the ideal form of meditation and mindfulness and she uses any excuse to heat up her oven.
Vartan BezhanyanBoard Member
Vartan Bezhanyan is an associate at the Legal Department of The TCW Group, Inc., a global asset management firm, working on private funds, CLOs and derivatives. Previously, Vartan was the General Counsel of Ardshinbank and a Board Member of Armenia Insurance, advising on international financing transactions. A licensed attorney in California and Armenia, Vartan holds LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, along with a PhD, MA and BA in Law from the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University. He enjoys RC racing, family outings and fishing.
Vitali AvagyanSecretary, Board Member
Vitali Avagyan is a data scientist at TurinTech, a deep tech startup based in London. He finished his PhD degree in energy economics and computational optimisation from Imperial College London. He has graduate and undergraduate degrees in industrial engineering and operations research in economics. His interest lies in the intersection of machine learning, big data, software engineering and economics. Despite his hectic schedule, he finds time to enjoy travelling, reading and playing board games.
Grisha KhachatryanChief Financial Officer, Board Member
Grisha Khachatryan is a Product Manager at Magnifi – a fintech platform to discover and shop for investment products: Mutual Funds, ETFs and model portfolios. He started his career as an Economist at the Central Bank of Armenia, then served as a Chief Actuary at Rosgosstrakh-Armenia insurance company after which moved to the US to pursue his Master of Finance degree from MIT. He has a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics from Yerevan State University. Grisha is also a laureate of multiple international piano competitions and enjoys practicing piano in his spare time.
Anahit SargsyanBoard Member
Anahit holds a Juris Doctorate degree from UCLA School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in History from University of California at Davis. Anahit is currently an Associate at a California law firm’s Los Angeles office, focusing her practice on litigation, elections, ethics and conflict of interest, and education matters. Previously, she worked as a Legislative Aide at California State Senate, where she served as an advisor on education, budget, health, and human services committees. In her free time, Anahit enjoys exploring modern European art and discovering new coffee shops on the way to the next travel destination.

Hayk MikayelyanDirector of Technologies
Hayk Mikayelyan is the Director of Technologies at Huys Foundation as well as Huys Scholar 2018. Hayk graduated from the New York University where he received a Master's in Interactive Telecommunications. Having prior experience in computer science and performance, he majored in immersive media, technologies and magic, illusions and perception, human-computer-interactions and experience design. Hayk Mikayelyan is Director of Tech and Innovation at Artemakar Productions. He brings his multidisciplinary background in interactive media arts to reinvent how to tell stories through emerging mediums of art. He also works for Benchmark Education Company as Digital Accessibility Analyst where he oversees the production of accessible digital products to extend the power of education to all users. In the meantime, he enjoys running and cooking.
Each academic year, the selection of Huys Scholars is facilitated by an independent Scholarship Committee, comprised of young professionals in their field, who subject the submitted applications to rigorous and objective review.
