Artyom Jhangiryan

I, Artyom Jhangiryan, commit to using the scholarship funds awarded by the Huys Foundation exclusively for my undergraduate studies at Cornell University, where I will pursue a double major in Computer Science and Operations Research & Information Engineering (ORIE) in the College of Engineering.
Armenia currently faces educational, economic, and technological advancement challenges, crucial for economic resilience and sustainable national development. My academic journey has uniquely positioned me to address exactly these challenges. Graduating at the top of my class from PhysMath Specialized School, and subsequently from UWC Dilijan, I’ve gained strong analytical, economic, mathematical, and computational skills. Representing Armenia in an International Economics Olympiad in Ancient Olympia, Greece, I was honored with a bronze medal, underscoring my proficiency in economics. Moreover, during my time at the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), I developed an award-winning Android application for personal finance management, which highlights my practical capabilities in technology and financial innovation. At the Samsung Innovation Campus as a student, then graduate, winner of the Samsung IT Contest in the CIS region, and thereafter as an official ambassador of the SIC program in Armenia, I aim to bridge society and technology as a tool for positive transformation, deeply motivated to help the youth like me with their mobile development projects to follow their educational dreams in software engineering.
Cornell University’s College of Engineering’s rigorous curriculum will significantly enhance my skills in machine learning, algorithmic systems, economic modeling, optimization techniques, and quantitative finance, enabling me to engage directly with top professionals and industry experts. I would like to establish an interactive multilingual online platform offering courses in financial literacy, coding, algorithmic trading, and data analysis. This platform will grant equal access to education to students from Yerevan and remote regions. Working together with leading Armenian universities and IT companies, I will lead annual workshops, boot camps, and mentorship programs to equip prospective business leaders in finance and technology, foster innovation entrepreneurship, and establish professional networks. By empowering Armenian youth and professionals with enhanced skills and opportunities, we can collectively foster a thriving ecosystem, financial stability, and economic resilience.
I am aware that Huys Foundation is granting the Huys Scholarship to me with the anticipation of my good faith pursuit and implementation of the projects and undertakings described in this letter, to which I hereby commit.
